ID=75278676

Red Lion’s young volleyball star Cole Brillhart is coming off his freshman season, a year in which the Lions struggled. But, in his first year of varsity play, Brillhart amassed 214 kills, 142 digs, 25 aces, and added nine assists as well.

Brillhart is looking forward to returning to the court next season as a better individual player and as a better teammate.

GameTimePA.com caught up with him recently. Here is what he had to say:Do you have any superstitions on game day? Not really, no, I just go out there and play.Were you satisfied with your performance this year?I probably could’ve done a little bit better. For the most part I was pretty satisfied.What about your team?I think we had a few bad losses. But I think with everyone but one senior coming back next year that we did pretty good.How do you look to improve in the future?As a team or individually?Individually.Just get bigger, faster, and stronger so that I can compete with people who are older than me.And how about as a team?Probably try to play more like a team and not individually. And also being able to come together to beat a team that is potentially better than us or at a closer skill level to us. I think we struggled with that this year. There were a few teams that were about the same skill level as us that we lost to.What opponent gave you the most trouble?Of course Central and Northeastern were very tough. But I thought Dallastown was tough, they gave us a pretty good showing.What was your favorite moment of the season? Favorite moment … I would say probably beating Susquehannock to get into (the league tournament). That was a big game. For me that was my first time making (the league tournament), being a freshman last year.If your sport wasn’t offered, what sport would you play? I would probably play lacrosse. I played that a few years before I started playing volleyball.What is your worst sport?Ugh. I would say the worst would probably be … I don’t know, I mean I’m pretty bad at soccer. (laughs)Besides volleyball, what do you like to do?I like to hang out with my friends and play football.Who is your role model? My dad.What’s your pregame routine like?Go out to eat before the game with some of my fellow teammates. Then coming back and cheering on JV.Favorite pregame music?One song that I always listen to is Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes.Oh yeah, great song. Name one place you'd love to go during your lifetime.Probably L.A.What embarrasses you most about your parents' movie or music tastes?Nothing embarrassing, they aren’t really fans of new music that’s out now. They’re not really classical fans or anything they just don’t like hip hop and rap and stuff.What is the one thing you do that drives your mom or dad crazy? Not doing my chores.If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go? Probably out west somewhere, like California. Like at the beach.
