Poll: YAIAA girls' Athlete of the Week | April 27-May 2

Big softball games dotted the schedule late last week, and that will also be the case entering this upcoming one.

On Monday night, YAIAA Division I will be on the line, when Central York faces Dallastown with the divisional title up for grabs. Central enters play with a 12-1 record in divisional play, while Dallastown holds an 11-2 mark. A Panthers’ win, and they’re outright divisional champions. A Wildcats’ victory, and the two teams will share the title at the close of the regular season.

Another big game took place on Friday, when West York visited Dover. It was the Eagles coming out on top 10-3, earning their first division title in 19 years as the team now holds a 9-4 record in Division II.

Kennard-Dale and Littlestown also hit the stretch drive neck and neck in YAIAA Division III, with each team standing at 12-1 in divisional play.

In Division IV, Delone Catholic clinched its title a long time ago, with its 11-2 district mark well in front of the next-closest competitor.

In girls track and field, Dallastown, Red Lion and Central York shared the title, with each team holding a 5-1-0 record. Eastern York won Division II outright, while Delone Catholic took home the Division III title.

And in girls’ lacrosse, Kennard-Dale wrapped up its week with Morgan Day apparently tying the state scoring record with 432 career goals and the Rams wrapping up a YAIAA championship with a 16-0 overall record and an 11-0 mark in league.
