Poll: YAIAA boys' Athlete of the Week | April 20-25

The West York baseball team continued it’s flawless effort this season with three wins over the past week - a 6-1 triumph over Red Lion, an 11-9 victory against Central York and then an 18-4 win over Kennard-Dale. Those results moved West York to 12-0 overall on the season. That, coupled with an 11-0 mark in YAIAA Division II play, has granted the Bulldogs at least a share of the divisional title this season.

They’re not the only YAIAA team that shined over recent days.

York Suburban clinched a YAIAA Division II tennis title, their first team championship since 2012, and sent Elliot Diehl and Michael Peck - who met last year in the YAIAA singles championship while claiming the doubles title as a tandem - back to the league tourney. In Class AAA tennis, Dallastown’s John Schmidt and Red Lion’s Sam Innerst came in as the tournament’s top seeds this year.
