Poll: YAIAA girls' Athlete of the Week | April 14-19


Central York and Dallastown softball are atop the YAIAA Division I standings with impressive records this season.

Dallastown holds an 8-1 mark in divisional play, while Central has a 7-1 mark. The two teams met on Wednesday, with Central York pulling off a 1-0 victory behind some crafty base running from freshman Erin Cabry.

In the Division III softball race, Dover has a 6-2 divisional record, one game better than 5-3 Susquehannock. Division II sees 7-0 Kennard-Dale narrowly ahead of Littlestown (8-1 divisional record) and also just in front of 6-2 York Suburban. And in Division I play, Delone Catholic continues its strong play with a 7-1 divisional record, ahead of two teams with 4-4 marks - Biglerville and York County Tech.

Back to Kennard-Dale, the Rams are having an outstanding year on the girls’ lacrosse field as well, holding an 8-0 record in YAIAA play. They hold a slim lead on Susquehannock (6-1 YAIAA record) and York Catholic (7-1 YAIAA mark) in the league standings.

And in girls’ track and field, there are five unbeaten teams in the YAIAA - Dallastown (4-0), Eastern York (5-0), Gettysburg (4-0), York Suburban (4-0) and Delone Catholic (5-0).
