Poll: YAIAA boys' Athlete of the Week | Feb. 23-Feb. 28


The William Penn boys’ basketball team has an impressive recent track record. Very impressive.

It’s District 3 Class AAAA championship victory on Saturday marked the third time in five years the Bearcats have won district gold.

Head coach Troy Sowers continues to get the most out of his team, and the players have responded and played up to their potential. Frankly, it would be nice to see them make a run further as well, but we shall see what the PIAA tournament has in store.

In Class A boys’ basketball, another York city school, Impact Academy, won a District 3 championship of its own.

Impact, formerly know as New Hope Academy, has some familiar faces on its team from a season ago when New Hope was crowned District 3 Class A champion as well.
