The York Catholic girls’ basketball team just keeps on winning. Year in and year out, game in and game out.

Seeded No. 1 in the District 3 Class AA tournament, the Irish are going for their 10th-straight district championship.

They’re a model of consistency, and stability.

Head coach Kevin Bankos has had a strong program in place for some time. It starts at the top, with Bankos in his ninth year as head coach of the Irish. That winning success and tradition regenerates itself, with new crops of players and a high expectation that starts from within.

York Catholic got its 2015 postseason run started in promising fashion, beating Oley Valley 58-28 in the opening round of the District 3 Class AA tournament this week.
