Ever since the YAIAA split its swimming league into two divisions in 2009, one school has dominated Division I, winning every boys' and girls' league title - Dallastown.

That poses the question, will either of those streaks come to an end on Thursday, when Dallastown hosts Central York at 4:30 p.m.?

The Panthers not only return a lot from both the boys' and girls' teams that finished second last season, but both teams have a tremendous freshman class that made the jump from the school's age-group program.

However, this is Dallastown.

On the girls' side, the Wildcats YAIAA regular season team championship streak dates back to 2005. In fact, since 1992, there are only three seasons (2004, 1993, 1992) that Dallastown did not win or share a YAIAA crown in girls' swimming.

In the boys, the Wildcats have won every title since 1992, with the four-year exception of 2005-2008 when York Suburban was kings of the league, during the Trojans' run of three consecutive Class AA state championships.

To see how good both these teams are this season, check out the top YAIAA swimming swim times through Jan. 5 and you will see plenty of Panthers and Wildcats mentioned.

Yes, Central is loaded this season, but while Dallastown graduated many talented swimmers, plenty of talent remains. This should be a classic meet.
