It was a week of firsts, at least for the Gettysburg Warriors.

Specifically, the team recorded its first postseason win in the history of the program, beating Lansdale Catholic 2-0 in the PIAA opening-round contest in Philadelphia.

And then there were some familiar trends. Like Gettysburg getting its brother-tandem of Matt and Adam Yingling scoring some pivotal goals - the only two of the game - as the Warriors downed Lansdale Catholic, 2-0, in their PIAA opening-round win on Wednesday. And the team getting its 14th shutout of the season - and fourth in five postseason games this year - in the victory.

Of course, Central York soccer won its second straight YAIAA crown this year, even if it didn’t necessarily mean postseason success.

We take a look at some of the playoff heroes from the past week of play, in this version of YAIAA Athlete of the Week.
