Poll: YAIAA football Athlete of the Week | Oct. 20-25

Here’s a shoutout to the overlooked and the emerging.

A shoutout the Susquhannock, which picked up its first win of the season, a 10-9 victory over Kennard-Dale in a tighly-contested contest.

To Biglerville, a team that continued its improved play by topping Hanover, as the Canners grabbed their fifth win of the season.

In that game, a Nighthawks wide receiver continued to post his jaw-dropping numbers as well, as Dylan Krieger caught a whopping 23 passes – yes, 23 – for 223 yards. Not surprising, Mr. Krieger will be one of our contestants for our Athlete of the Week award (vote below fans).

So will be William Penn senior Zack Ingram, who came off the bench to rush for 131 yards and four touchdowns, in the Bearcats 43-7 win over New Oxford.

If it weren’t for these week-to-week performances – the surprises, the feel-good stories – what would we have? A lot less interesting football season, that’s for sure.

Vote again this week folks. We need your participation, also. With that, the nominations for this week’s football Athlete of the Week.
