Sunday Spotlight: Two-minute drill Q&A with York Catholic's Qua'Shawn Grooms

A three-year starter on the York Catholic football team, Qua'Shawn Grooms knows his teammates well.

During this summer's YAIAA football media day, we asked the receiver and defensive back about them and the team in general.

The one player on your team you wouldn’t want to face: Like Ian (Shelley) said last year, Josh Boyer. He has an attitude. If he’s mad, he’s coming after you.

NFL player you best compare to: Reggie Wayne. Not too fast, but he gets the job done. Knows how to play the position.

Your least favorite practice drill: Probably conditioning, when coach has us do “Seven Gates of Hell.” It’s pretty tough.

The best nickname on the team: Probably Hakeem (Kinard). “Keem Baby.”

Your worst sport: Probably soccer. I remember trying to kick a goal and I passed it to someone instead.

Go-to move on the field: My favorite is the stiff arm. It pretty much works all the time.

Favorite YAIAA stadium, other than your own: I like to play at Northeastern’s field. It’s nice turf and feels good. First game, so that’s the game you’re most excited for.
