Week 6 YAIAA football power rankings: no changes up top
As far as movement in this week's power rankings go, there really isn't much to say. The top eight teams from last week won their games Friday night. Therefore, the top eight spots remain the same.
The biggest debate this week came down to teams nine through 11, where Northeastern and Eastern York have lost two straight and York Catholic has won two in a row. The Bobcats' victory over the Irish and close loss on Friday to Red Lion gives them the No. 9 spot. York Catholic's victories keep it at 10th.

1. Bermudian Springs (5-0, last week: 1) – So much for that showdown with Fairfield. The Eagles held the Green Knights to 44 yards in a 48-0 win. Bermudian hosts York County Tech on Friday.
2. Dallastown (4-1, LW: 2) – In two weeks since its tough loss to Penn Manor, the Dallastown defense has responded by giving up three and seven points. The touchdown came late in the first half of the Wildcats' 28-7 win against William Penn. After holding William Penn to minus-6 yards rushing in the second half, coach Kevin Myers defense is growling like the public address system that blares after a touchdown for Dallastown.
3. West York (4-1, LW: 3) – Perhaps a little mystery comes this week for West York, which takes its turn playing a non-league foe in the seven-team YAIAA Division II. Pius X comes to town after suffering its first loss to Wyomissing in humbling 48-7 fashion. 4. Red Lion (3-2, LW: 4) – A shorthanded Lions team got past Northeastern, 21-14, and now travels to South Western. The impressive part for Red Lion is it won without veteran lineman Greg Thibault and receiver Kendrick Boyd-Gillespie, who's pulled in five touchdown grabs. The unimpressive part was the stats on Friday: just seven first downs and fewer than 100 yards rushing or passing. Coach Jesse Shay admitted the win wasn't pretty. Considering the circumstances, he will take the 2-0 league record in YAIAA Division I.
5. Dover (3-2, LW: 5) – Give a game ball to John Sterner. A week after he had a potential game-ending interception waved off because of penalty vs. Gettysburg, Sterner ran one back to cap Dover's 28-12 win at Eastern York.
In contention: 6. Gettysburg (4-1), 7. Spring Grove (3-2), 8. Central York (2-3), 9. Northeastern (3-2), 10. York Catholic (3-2).
