Week 3 YAIAA football power rankings

There was no movement in the YAIAA football power rankings after Week 1, hence the hiatus last week. However, much has changed since then with shakeups throughout the league in this young season.

Let's dive into it:

1. Dallastown (2-0, previously ranked: 5) -- Perhaps the Wildcats were a little underrated coming into Week 1. Defensively and in regards to their running game, they looked strong. The question was, how would they overcome the loss of a strong senior class that led last year's team to a district semifinal, the furthest Dallastown had been in school history. So far, this senior class has made its own impact. Look to last week's 21-20 win at West York.

2. Bermudian Springs (2-0, PR: 2) -- No shame in being No. 2 here. The Eagles are as legit of a team as you will find in District 3. The Eagles have posted a YAIAA-best 689 yards rushing through the first two weeks. They also have been as stingy as they come: 13 points and 244 total yards allowed are both the fewest in the 23-team league.

3. West York (1-1, PR: 4) -- An opening statement, 41-20 at Central York, followed with a close one vs. Dallastown. With the Wildcats ranked atop this poll, the Bulldogs certainly cannot be punished. Their game Friday at Red Lion should tell much as to how both of those teams will fare going forward.

4. Spring Grove (1-1, PR: 9) -- Russ Stoner's group might feel like a 2-0 squad right now. A close loss at Cumberland Valley followed with an impressive showing last week vs. Mechanicsburg.

5. Gettysburg (2-0, PR unranked) -- The new kids on the block didn't take long to break this top five. A wild one with South Western and a decisive win against New Oxford are checked in as positives on the Warriors' early resume.

Also in contention -- 6. Red Lion (1-1), 7. Northeastern (2-0), 8. Eastern York (2-0), 9. Dover (1-1), 10. Central York (0-2).
