YAIAA Division II football players to watch

For some this might actually be the first look at the YAIAA's newest member, Gettysburg. Scroll down to meet two of the Warriors returning players. For now, let's look at Division II by starting with defending champion Dover:

DOVERJunior running back Durran Ledbetter: Take your pick. Seniors Jake McLean and Isaiah Green also could easily have been used for this. Here's a look at Ledbetter.

Senior tight end/outside linebacker Malik Allen: A returning all-league selection, Allen helped the Eagles to the Division II title and a run into the second round of the District 3 Class AAA playoffs.

WEST YORKSenior quarterback Ross Campbell: The versatile Campbell threw for more than 1,000 yards and rushed for about 700 last year.

Senior linebacker Tanner Hale: Along with fellow senior Noah Townsley, they led the Bulldogs in tackles as juniors.

YORK SUBURBANJunior quarterback Thomas Merkle: After taking over as a sophomore, Merkle's next task will be dealing with Division II defenses. The Trojans move up from Division III as part of the realignment to accommodate Gettysburg.

Senior receiver/defensive back Jimmy Daglaris: Expect to see more of Daglaris this season, likely one of Merkle's top weapons.

EASTERN YORKSenior linebacker Lucas Barshinger: An all-league linebacker in Division III last year, Barshinger and the Golden Knights move up a division just like rival Suburban.

Senior running back David Livelsberger: As a junior, Livelsberger stepped into the top role with the running game following the graduation of all-time leading rusher Alex Cooley.

SUSQUEHANNOCKJunior cornerback/running back Myles Moultrie: With a new coach in J.C. Lewis, Moultrie could be one of his top athletes.

KENNARD-DALESenior guard/defensive tackle Dan Creter: The Rams have developed strong linemen before. Creter is among the next in that line.GETTYSBURGSenior defensive end/guard/kicker Giovani Almanza-Alvarado: He earned All-Mid Penn honors as a junior.Senior receiver/defensive back Tyler Lampe: Hearing coaches are high on their skill players this summer, Lampe is one of the more proven commodities.
