YAIAA Division III football players to watch

For the next three days, we will feature some of the YAIAA football players to watch (two per team). After scouring hudl.com for highlights of area players, here's what we found:

BERMUDIAN SPRINGS

Senior defensive tackle Noah Hakes: A returning all-league performer in Division III, Hakes is a GameTimePA.com all-area preseason defender (spoiler alert).

Senior running back/safety Ryan Markle: Bothered earlier in his high school career by injury, Markle could be in store for quite the senior season.

LITTLESTOWNSenior receiver/safety Lucas Reynolds: As a junior, Reynolds made some incredible interceptions. Here's an example of his defensive prowess.

Junior tackle/defensive tackle Ryan Dickensheets: He earned a starting spot as a sophomore, helping the Thunderbolts reach the District 3 Class AA final.

YORK CATHOLIC

Senior quarterback/cornerback Hakeem Kinard: One of just two players to throw for 1,000 yards and rush for another 1,000 last season in the YAIAA.

Senior receiver/defensive back Qua’Shawn Grooms: The Irish could get creative this fall with their offensive playmakers. Grooms and the Irish also are coming off a run to the Class A district final.

DELONE CATHOLIC

Senior quarterback Jake Wiles: Son of coach Steve Wiles, he looks to lead the Squires back to the district playoffs.

Senior safety Tyler Loucks: Nicknamed the "Quiet assassin," Loucks earned second-team All-Division III honors last season.

FAIRFIELD

Senior quarterback Mason Flickinger: A second-team All-Division III player last year, Flickinger proved a threat at quarterback, running back and receiver.

Junior tight end/defensive end Antijuan Washington: Players, such as Washington, were big reasons why the Green Knights had a record season and made the district playoffs in 2013.

YORK COUNTY TECHSenior running back/safety Nashid Bones: Looking for a new feature back, Bones is the favorite entering Spartans camp.

Junior quarterback/defensive back Demarius Wiggins: When starter Dalmar Dickson was sidelined, Wiggins stepped in to take his place.

HANOVERSenior receiver/safety Dylan Krieger: If there was a high school fantasy football game, Krieger could be the YAIAA equivalent to Wes Welker. He already has been among the league leaders in receptions the last two years.

Senior guard/linebacker Garrett Reichart: As a junior, he earned second-team All-Division III honors on both sides of the football.

BIGLERVILLESenior kicker/punter Jorden Trostel: A returning all-league performer as a kicker for the Canners.

Senior defensive tackle Nate Mentzer: Mentzer earned honorable mention last year in Division III.
