Brett Kinneman invited to 18-under national baseball tryouts

Brett Kinneman, who recently completed his junior year at West York, is one of 108 baseball players invited to participate in the 2014 Tournament of Stars, which will take place in Cary, N.C., starting on Tuesday, June 17.

The week-long competition will feature work-outs on Tuesday and Friday, with games being played Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

After Sunday's games, the top 40 players will be selected to head to Texas in August for another competition, where the top 20 will be selected to the U.S. 18-under national team, which will compete in Mexico.

Kinneman, who has committed to play at North Carolina State, headed to Cary right from Fort Myers, Fla., where he was one of 250 kids that played in the Perfect Game national tournament.

It's just the beginning of what promises to be a busy summer of traveling for Kinneman. His travel team, Chandler Baseball will compete in the World Wood Bat Association from June 30 to July 11.

From there that team will head to the Perfect Game World Series, held in Tuscon, Ariz. in late July.
