Some additional reactions from Northeastern and Central York sweeping to volleyball titles

Northeastern and Central York captured PIAA volleyball titles at Penn State on Saturday. The Bobcats swept Ambridge for their second straight PIAA championship in a rematch of the 2013 finals and the Panthers took care of North Allegheny in three sets for their second state crown in four years.

Here are some of the reactions from the day that didn't make it into the stories.

Dylan Hose, Central York senior: "This is amazing. Playing sports my whole life this is the coolest feeling I have ever had. I can’t think of a better feeling to go out as a Central York athlete than to win a state championships."

Central coach Brad Livingston on comparing the 2011 championship to 2014: "I have special memories from that. I remember the kids running around celebrating. I remember David Moler sitting down with a playbook formulation his offensive game plan for NA. I remember all that stuff and its really special. This is going to be equally as special as soon as it sinks in."

Alex Klunk, Central senior: "I remember watching (the 2011 championship) on TV and seeing how good the guys were and how happy I was for them. The hard work they put in really contributed to the success they had. It was a possibility in the back of my head, now it’s so surreal I can’t even think about it."

Royce Clemens, Central senior: "It’s a surreal feeling for me right now. All the stress was out prior to this game because every team wants to get to this game. Once you do, it’s go have fun and whatever happens, happens. All of us had the same goal since we set out in the offseason and that was to get back to this game like we did our freshman year. We did all the steps we had to."

Northeastern senior Matt Hollinger on the pressure of repeating as champs: "It crossed our minds, but we just had to come out and play our game."

Chris Lee, Northeastern sophomore on the Bobcats margin of victory: "I am pretty surprised. I thought they would put us on our heels right away, but it was vice-versa. We played fantastic all the way around. All around, it was a great game."

Northeastern's Matt Wilson comparing his three titles as coach: "I love them all equally. There is something with this group this year. I have had past groups that were almost equally as dominant but would occasionally have that game where they would lose focus and this group just didn't lose focus. That's a tribute to those guys."

Luke Braswell, Northeastern senior on deciding to drop the last shot of the championship: "I wanted to try and have that last point. Luckily the ball fell and we celebrated. It was awesome. I went to do it last year and (Ambridge's) Lee Smith blocked me. I wanted to do it again to get revenge."
