Central York's Schiding has interim tag removed

Bryan Schiding is the men's track and field and cross country coach at Missouri Southern. That might not be new, but his interim tag was removed this week.

A 1996 graduate of Central York High School, Schiding spent that past year as Missouri Southern's interim coach for both programs. The cross country team finished second in its league at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. An NCAA Division II school, the cross country team went on to finish third in its region.

"After a thorough review of the program, it was clear this was the way we needed to go," athletic director Jared Bruggeman said in a release on the school's athletic website.

Schiding spent the previous four years as an assistant at Missouri Southern. As a senior at Central York, he was selected the YAIAA Division A Athlete of the Year. He went on to run track and field at Bucknell.
