Courtney Harnish and York YMCA set two national records

Courtney Harnish was a part of two national record-breaking swims in Thursday's third day of the 2014 YMCA Nationals Short Course.

The West York freshman swam a 4:39.13 to not only win the 500 freestyle, but also broke a YMCA record. Leah Braswell went 4:47.46 to place third overall in the event.

Earlier in the day, Braswell, Niki Price, Harnish and Meghan Small combined to swim a 7:10.38 in the 800 free relay, setting another YMCA mark.

Small finished first in the 200 backstroke with her time of 1:54.01 and Harnish, Small, Price and Emily Ilgenfritz swam a 1:43, good for sixth place in the 200 medley relay.

The York YMCA women are in second place overall heading into Friday.
