Central York grad Erin Reynolds earns award at Kutztown


Kutztown University senior Erin Reynolds, a 2010 Central York grad, is receiving a Silver Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Award 2014 in the category of noteworthy achievements in athletics.

Reynolds closed her Golden Bears career in style last fall, finishing her senior season with 10 goals and four assists, for 24 points. The midfielder started 70-of-72 games in college, scoring 24 goals, to along with 15 helpers and 63 points for her outstanding career.

Set to graduate in May with a degree in elementary education, Reynolds was an all-PSAC choice all four years. She is now one of seven field hockey players in school history to receive multiple All-American honors. The trend started when she was a frosh when she earned All-America First Team recognition and was named the PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Year.

She played on the 2010 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Rookie Squad; started in 70 of 72 career games played; played in the 2013 NFHCA North/South Senior Game; and was a three-time NFHCA All-Academic Squad player and three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. Erin has served as treasurer for the KU Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for the field of education.
