Morgan Pfaff now a Rutgers record holder
The expression on Red Lion grad Morgan Pfaff's face in this photo tells the story. This photo was taken by Pfaff's mom, Rebecca Pfaff, after Morgan broke a Rutgers swimming record the first of two times she did the trick on Thursday at the American Athletic Conference championship meet.
Pfaff's preliminary time of 1:59.14 broke the Scarlet Knights record of 2:02.09 set in 2008. She then topped it in the evening's finals when she swam 1:58.46 and ended up with a silver medal.
Both were amazing swims for the former Lion, who dropped more than six seconds off her seed time. She trailed only Louisville junior Tanja Kylliainen, who set a pool record Ralph Wright Natatorium record with a 1:56.34.
Also at Rutgers, Northeastern alum Rebecca Gross placed 11th after scoring 220.40 points in the AAC diving championship.
