Brady Markle, shown at left skying for a kill while starring for Spring Grove, is off to a good start to his sophomore volleyball season at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C.

During a recent five-game LMC victory, Markle drilled a game-high 23 kills as the Bobcats knocked off St. Francis, 3-2.

Markle followed that game with a 24-kill, six-dig effort in a five-set win against Quincey. His 102 points leads the team so far this season, while his 86 kills this season ranks him second.

Markle is not the only local at Lees-McRae as former Rockets teammate Drew Blecher is getting time as a setter. Blecher, shown at left while playing for Spring Grove, is second on the Bobcats with 25 assists this season.
