A very social media, thanks for the following

We are been inundated with social media for some time now. But the value of it in this business really is terrific.

This is especially true with Twitter, where we can draw attention to work being done about local high school sports on our main site, GameTimePA.com. But one of the best things about Twitter has been the ability to give instant scores and updates from local sporting events that are easy to get via smartphone. It is also a great tool to interact with fans, which there are many passionate ones from all of the local schools.

And the best part is, the following for YAIAA fans has gone much further than football. I picked up many followers during the recent YAIAA and District 3 golf championships. The YAIAA and ongoing district soccer tournaments have been successful as well, and there are plenty of other examples. The bottom line is: If someone wants to know what is happening at a certain event and they can't be there, following either myself @stevenavaroli or Matt Goul @mgoul, is a great place to start.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for following me. Recently I surpassed the 1,000 followers mark, something I never dreamed of doing. And I don't plan to stop any time soon, so tell your friends to follow. It's a great tool.
