Friday's Dallastown field hockey match a 'Play4theCure' event

The Friday, Oct. 4 Dallastown vs. Dover field hockey match also will be a fundraising event. The host Wildcats plan a "Play4theCure" event in cooperation with the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Teams from across York County are invited to participate by committing to donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR.

Friday's match begins at 4:15 p.m., with T-shirts being sold. Dallastown players will wear white socks with pink ribbons for the occasion. The field will be lined in pink, and the game played with a pink ball.

Dallastown has held the event for the last five years.

All proceeds will be donated to local breast cancer research and support groups in York. The team also will be collecting general donations and selling T-shirts to raise additional funds. More information on "Play4theCure" can be found at www.nfcr.org/p4tc.
