York Suburban football players building foundations

Members of the York Suburban football team will spend Thursday morning and the next two Saturdays as a demolition crew. They spent last Thursday in the same role, helping gut the inside of a home being rebuilt by York Habitat for Humanity.

The work on the 321 E. Poplar St. home will start Thursday at 8 a.m. and continue Saturday, July 20 and 27. Also on July 27, those Trojans will turn their attentions to homes on the 600 block of West Princess Street in York.

Following the East Poplar Street demolition, York Habitat for Humanity will concentrate on framing the interior and is seeking "skilled and unskilled volunteers to help with all phases of construction," according to a press release.

Habitat also seeks volunteers for its other work site, a new duplex at 403/405 S. Albemarle St. The exterior walls are up and the roof is on. Workers on this site are currently framing the interior of the home. More information can be found at www.yorkhabitat.org.
