Dallastown grad Carley Smith earns all-league lacrosse pick

Only a sophomore, Carley Smith already has 100 career goals for the Wilkes women's lacrosse team. Smith, a 2011 Dallastown graduate who also played a key role for the Wildcats in basketball, received second-team All-Freedom Conference honors this season for the Colonels.

Smith racked up a team-best 78 total points on 59 goals and 19 assists. Her highlights included seven goals against FDU-Florham and King's College, plus six against Eastern and Manhattanville.

"Carley's big games this year helped us make the playoffs," interim coach Danielle Hawkins said in a team release. "She stepped up all year."

Wilkes lost to Aracdia in the Freedom semifinals. Smith played a role in helping the Colonels to their first 10-win season, a three-game improvement from the previous year, and their first trip to the Freedom playoffs in program history.
