A look back at district hoops tournament
The YAIAA had what has become a typical showing in the District 3 basketball tournament. Five teams from the league reached the final, and two teams won championships. At least two teams from the York-Adams league have won district basketball titles every season since 2009.
The league hit its peak with seven finalists in 2011, with four teams -- William Penn boys, Hanover boys, Red Lion girls and York Catholic girls -- winning championships. That year's haul matched the 2007 output, when all four YAIAA finalists -- West York boys, York Catholic boys, Eastern York girls and York Catholic girls -- won championships.
