More from Spring Grove's swimming win

More from Spring Grove after the Rockets' incredible 94-92 girls swimming victory past Central York.

The Panthers led 88-84 heading to the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. Needing to win that race and finish third, the Spring Grove's Haley Staub, Alexis Cable, Abby Kling and Katelyn Miller won by nearly 10 seconds.

That set the stage for Courtney Perry, Rebekah Keller, Michaela Taylor and Rebecca Miller - the twin sister of Katelyn. The foursome blazed to a 4:08.12, capturing the pivotal third place by more than seven seconds, earning the Rockets 10 points and the come-from-behind win.

"Every race, every relay is important. We worked to do that for the team," Staub said.

"We knew we needed that third place to stay undefeated," Kling, who set a Spring Grove pool record with her 5:19.09 in the 500 free, said.

"I was freaking out. I knew third place was needed to win," Cable said.

"As soon as I finished, I knew I had to look over (and cheer for her)," said anchor Katelyn Miller about watching her sister anchor the "B" team. "Swimming wise she has helped me. We are very competitive."
