High school teammates on opposite sides Monday at York College

When York College hosted Catholic University on Monday night, two former York Catholic standouts were lined up against each other.

Spartan Brittany Hicks played 38 minutes, scoring seven points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds. The junior was up against former mate Jenny McGann, shown at left playing for the Irish during the 2008 District 3 Class AA championship game. McGann started for the Cardinals, played a team-high 34 minutes, finishing with two points and two rebounds.

Both struggled from the floor as Hicks, York's leading scorer and rebounder this season, shot just 3-of-13. The senior McGann was 0-for-3, draining both of her free throw attempts.
