Central York's Lauren Moyer earns All-State nod

It's been a month of awards for Central York field hockey stand-out Lauren Moyer. Earlier in December the senior was named to one of the 2012 Harrow Sports/NFHCA All-Region teams, one of only 160 nationwide to earn such an honor, which also was a first for a YAIAA field hockey player.

On Friday, Moyer was named a first team All-State selection for Class AAA, the only local player to receive the honor. Terrific at both ends of the field, Moyer scored 20 goals and recorded 12 defensive saves for the Panthers this season.

Moyer is listed on the U.S. Field Hockey's Futures Elite List and is a member of the U.S. Junior National Indoor team. She is slated to play at the University of North Carolina next fall.
