Jacob Iati is off to a strong start in his final season with the University of Albany men's basketball team. The former York Catholic standout earned America East player of the week honors on Monday.

During three games last week, Iati cracked the 20-point mark twice and drained 12-of-21 3-pointers. The fifth-year senior scored 20 against Washington and later dropped a career-high 24 against Missouri-Kansas City.

On the season, the fifth-year senior is averaging 15.8 points and is tied for third in the NCAA with 16 made 3-pointers. This is the second time in his career Iati has been named America East player of the week.

Iati, who graduated from York Catholic in 2008, is second in the YAIAA's all-time leading scorer list with 2,388 points.
