York Catholic football standout Matt Lehr will join one of his YAIAA football brethren at national all-star game this January.

The senior running back found out last week that he had been selected to compete in the Pro-Motion Sports Blue-Grey All-Star Classic, which will be held on Jan. 12 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The game will feature football prospects from across the country and be televised by Fox Sports Florida.

Lehr will join Delone Catholic running back Nick Braun, who was named to the North squad in September.

Lehr just wrapped up a brilliant three-year run with the Fighting Irish which saw him crack the 1,000-rushing yard plateau in each of his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Lehr finished the 2012 campaign with 1,019 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 174 attempts (a 5.85 average). He also pitched in 404 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
