West York C/DT Brody Kern commits to Delaware

One of the YAIAA's top senior football players has made a decision on his college future.

West York center/defensive tackle Brody Kern issued a verbal commitment to the University of Delaware on Sunday, Bulldogs coach Ron Miller said. Kern is entering his fourth season as a starter at center for West York, and should also anchor the Bulldogs' defensive line in 2012.

Kern previously received an offer from Towson, and has fielded interest from a number of schools. The 6-foot-2, 270-pounder had 27 tackles on defense last season, and was recently featured in our "12 to watch in 2012" YAIAA football preview series.

Delaware has been among the most consistent Division I-FCS programs in the country. The Blue Hens finished 7-4 last season, including 5-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

More to come later on Kern's decision.
