Final honor for Spring Grove grad Shane Henry

Although his collegiate golf career ended, Spring Grove grad Shane Henry received one more honor for his work at Millersville University when he earned a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar award.

Henry was the only PSAC golfer to be in the group that was required to participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. Plus, be of high moral character and in good standing at his college or university.

Henry was one of 52 NCAA Division II golfers to make the cut. As a senior, he played 19 rounds with 1,454 cumulative strokes, for an average of 76.5 per round. One of his season highlights came when he won the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Golf Tournament on March 31 and April 1 by firing a six-over-150 for the tournament.
