YAIAA alums hitting the books at York College


The Capital Athletic Conference rolled out its Academic All-Conference list and once again York College and the YAIAA were well-represented.

In all, 176 out of 401 Spartan student-athletes earned all-CAC honors, a percentage of 43.9. Only Salisbury's 180 topped York.

Here is a breakdown per sport of YAIAA graduates that earned conference academic honors at York College. Baseball: Colin Porter (South Western), David Walker (South Western). Field hockey: Ashton Burk (Susquehannock). Golf: Tyler Rhines (South Western). Men's basketball: Todd Maciejewski (Red Lion), Jordan Martz (Hanover). Men's track and field: Paul Glassmoyer (West York). Men's tennis: Phillip Myers (William Penn). Volleyball: Jana Arentz (Hanover), Noelle Bricker (Dallastown), Kristin Martinak (South Western), Ashley Rineman (Delone Catholic). Women's basketball: Brittany Hicks (York Catholic). Women's track and field/cross country: Misty Parshall (Northeastern/homeschooled), Mandy Parshall (Northeastern/homeschooled), Tuesday Wilson (Eastern York). Laura Rowlands (Dover). Women's swimming: Courtney Dacheux (Dover), Megan Shannon (South Western).

CAC Notes: The conference will add two Virginia schools, Christopher Newport and Southern Virginia in the 2013-14 academic year.
