Parade planned to honor West York baseball team

More than a week removed from its first state championship, the West York baseball team is still basking in the glow of its achievement. On July 12, the Bulldogs will celebrate with the rest of the West York community.

That evening, the Bulldogs will take part in a parade through the borough and township streets. We don't have the exact route yet, but it's expected to start at the high school around 6 p.m. The team will arrive back at the high school at 6:45 for a ceremony in the school's gymnasium.

No word on whether or not there will be a musical performance.

West York defeated Lampeter-Strasburg, 9-6, two Fridays ago to claim the PIAA Class AAA title.

We'll pass along more info as we get it.
