After a seven-year hiatus, the PIAA Basketball Championships are returning to Hershey.

The PIAA voted 29-2 on Thursday to move the annual championships to Hershey's Giant Center for the next four years, beginning with the 2012-13 season. Hershey had been the longtime host of the basketball finals until 2006, when the event was moved to Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center.

Rod Frisco has some more details here, and the Patriot-News ran a story on the potential change on Wednesday.

The Giant Center figures to be a busy place next Feburary and March. The facility also plays host to the District 3 basketball championships and the PIAA team and individual wrestling championships.

What are your thoughts on the switch? Do you prefer one location to the other?
