State's top volleyball teams set to descend on Northeastern for Bobcat Invitational

Attention boys' volleyball fans: Interested in catching a dozen or so of Pennsylvania's best teams, all in one location? You can do it this Saturday by heading over to Northeastern High School.

The school will be hosting its annual Bobcat Invitational tournament, which will once again attract 30 top programs from across the state. The JV tournament is set for Friday, with the main attraction -- the varsity event -- to follow Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m.

Put simply, the tournament field is loaded. Six of the top Class AAA teams and six of the top 1o Class AA (according to the PA Volleyball Coaches latest rankings) will be in attendance. Among the teams to watch: Chambersburg, Hempfield, Pennridge, Central Dauphin, Manheim Central and Bethlehem Catholic. Defending Class AAA state champions Central York -- along with YAIAA title hopefuls York Suburban and Dover -- will also make the short drive to Manchester.

Admission for the tournament benefits the Bobcast Booster Club. JV admission Friday is $4 for and $2 for students, while varsity admission is $6 for adults and $2 for students. Children under 5 are admitted free.
