The first morning of the PIAA swimming and diving championships

Red Lion senior Morgan Pfaff had a terrific start to her final PIAA championship when she swam a 2:05.14 in the girls Class AAA 200 individual medley, which put her in the medal contention during this evening's championships finals at Bucknell University.

Pfaff also combined with teammates Courtney Schaefer, Emily Smeltzer and Jesse North for the 10th best time of 1:49.54 in the 200 medley relay. The foursome will swim in the consolation finals tonight.

Also from the morning preliminaries, Dallastown's Trevor Hine earned a spot in the consolations after posting a 1:56.42 in the AAA boys 200 IM. The Wildcat boys 200 free relay team of John Hudish, Corey Stauffer, Steven Paine and Michael Godboldte reached the consolations.

Hershey's Meaghan Raab broke her own PIAA record with her morning swim of 1:45.89 in the girls 200 freestyle.
