And now for the girls' power rankings. No change at the top spot from last week, but we did have at least one new team crack the top five. Check them out after the jump.

1. Red Lion (1) -- A loss to Allentown Central Catholic aside, it’s still hard to make a case for any area team having been more impressive to start the season than the Lions. Don Dimoff’s group showed some resiliance, too, following that defeat Tuesday with a rout of Central Dauphin on Wednesday. Dallastown transfer Jen Horvatinovic has been very consistent while assimilating into her new team. She has reached double figures scoring in every game, and is averaging 11.5 points. Erica Maciejewski is pouring in a team-best 15.4 points per contest.
2. Dover (3) --
As mentioned before, the record has to mean something. And the Eagles are now the only girls team in the area yet to lose, after a 54-44 win over Gettysburg on Friday night. Sophomore Alayah Hall may already be one of the league's top players -- she's averaging 15.1 points per game. And her supporting cast, led by senior Erin Wetzel, is solid. Dover could really stake its claim in Division II this Friday, when it hosts defending division champion Spring Grove.
3. Delone Catholic (4) -- After a few early slip-ups, the Squirettes have steadied themselves. Delone (6-2) has won three straight, and took home the Bishop Guilfoyle tournament this week. They even threw up a 96-spot during one of those games, a blowout of Huntingdon. Maria Photiades scored 24 points in that game, which should come as an extremely encouraging sign. If the Squirettes can give star Sierra Moore that kind of support throughout the year, they won’t lose many games.
4. York Catholic (3) -- The Irish suffered their first loss of the year to Solanco, but a defeat to an unbeaten Golden Mules squad is nothing to fret about. The Fighting Irish have one of their taller teams in recent memory, and a trio of guards who can all score 15-plus points on a given night. You can just sense the anticipation building toward that first matchup with Delone on Jan. 13. How will one of those rivalry games look without Kady Schrann?
5. Eastern York (HM) -- Another team that has had a shaky start, but rebounded well. The Golden Knights took home the Wrightsville Rotary Tournament this week with wins against Bishiop McDevitt and Kennard-Dale. Forward Morgan DeRemer was superb against the Rams, scoring 21 of Eastern’s 40 points. She and Liz Myers are putting together a nice follow-up to last season, when each averaged a double-double per game.
