Athlete Spotlight: Na'Shon DeShields

Na’Shon DeShields is a senior on the William Penn basketball team and was kind enough to answer a few of our questions.

It’s noon on a typical Saturday. What are you doing?

I am probably playing basketball. If I am not playing basketball, than I am probably with my friends somewhere.

If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Notorious B.I.G. --  I think he would have a lot to say about his struggles.  I went through struggles myself and I think he would be able to relate.

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant -- I would like to hear them argue about who is better.

If you could switch places with any one person for a day, who would you pick?

I think I would trade places with Bill Gates.

What TV show needs to make a comeback?

Definitely Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

If you could travel anywhere for a month, where would you go?

I would probably go to Africa. I think it would be interesting.

Why did you start playing your sport?

My whole family played basketball.  My whole family is pretty much athletic. I didn’t really have a choice. I picked up a basketball when I was little and haven’t stopped.
