Sierra Moore joins 2,000-point club

Delone Catholic's Sierra Moore became the 15 basketball player (boys or girls) in York and Adams Counties to reach 2,000 career points last night, during the Squirettes' 48-46 loss at Gettysburg.

Here's where the Duke recruit stands among the area's all-time scoring leaders:

Logan Steckel, Red Lion Christian -- 2,805 points -- 2011

Frank Hawkins, Red Lion Christian -- 2,573 points -- 1995

Andrew Nicholas, Eastern York -- 2,504 points -- 2011

Jacob Iati, York Catholic -- 2,388 points -- 2008

Autumn Lau, Northeastern -- 2,304 points -- 2009

Lauren Beckley, Fairfield -- 2,258 points -- 2006

Adam Miller, Kennard-Dale -- 2,236 points -- 1993

Jon Iati, York Catholic -- 2,216 points -- 2003

Barb DeShields, William Penn -- 2,175 points -- 1990

Brian Pearl, York Catholic -- 2,175 points -- 1991

Kady Schrann, York Catholic -- 2,162 points -- 2011

Meredith Cox, Delone Catholic -- 2,097 points -- 2006

Megan Schmuck, Red Lion Christian points -- 2,061 -- 2001

Meggan Quinn, Red Lion -- 2,044 points -- 2006

Sierra Moore, Delone Catholic -- 2,017 points -- 2011

Next up for Moore is Delone's Catholic's school scoring record (held by Meredith Cox), which she needs just 80 more points to break.

And Moore now needs 287 points to surpass Autumn Lau's YAIAA girls' scoring record. At her current pace this season (26.7 ppg), it would take Moore 11 more games to surpass that mark.

Let the countdown begin.
