Ten from YAIAA make PVCA all-state team

The Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association released its girls all-state teams recently, and 10 local players made the cut. (I won't bother to post the entire list of selections, because it's quite long. You can find it here.)

Dover and Spring Grove each had two players selected to the Class AAA team. Eagles senior standout Sammie Strausbaugh, who is bound for Jacksonville State, was honored, as was versatile sophomore Bayleigh Hoffman. The Rockets were represented by senior middle hitter Karli Mummert and senior libero Kayla Yingling.

Meanwhile, six YAIAA players were chosen for the Class AA squad. District 3 champions Susquehannock contributed three athletes: seniors Hannah Bentz, Kacey Franz and Sherelle Walker. Delone Catholic was represented by senior middle hitter Faith Athey and junior setter Allie Mondorff. Finally, West York senior Emily Sides rounded out the local selections.
