William Penn jumper places at national meet

William Penn's Jarred Posey cemented his spot as one of the nation's top triple jumpers last week -- and added to his school record jump in the process. Posey, the junior, placed eighth in the triple jump at the annual New Balance High School National Championships at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro. Full results are here, if you really want to wade through them all. Posey's top jump of 48 feet, 2 inches, was a personal best, and added to the school record Posey already owns. Posey has had a pretty productive month. He earned a silver medal in the triple jump at the PIAA Championships, finishing behind another junior, Reading's Imani Brown. Brown, by the way, won the national championship in Greensboro last week, with a jump of 50-06.75. Posey finishes the outdoor season with the 12th best jump among all high school juniors, according to dyestat.com.
