YAIAA athlete Spotlight: Hannah Bressi

Hannah Bressi is a senior at Dallastown High School and is on the girls soccer team.

How old where you when you first started playing soccer?
3 or 4. My brother played and my dad coached him. Then when I decided to play, my dad coached me.

What is it about soccer that you enjoy?
The team. Being on a team and having a group of girls that understand where I am coming from, that is awesome!

What gets your adrenaline rushing?
Playing a team like Red Lion or a team that I know is going to give us a really good game. Being around all my teammates right before the game, its like a nervous adrenaline rush.
What position do you play?
Outside mid and some center mid, but mostly outside mid.

How did the season go for you?
Great, we beat Red Lion in the County Championships. This has been one of my favorite seasons in high school. As a team, we have been doing really well and connecting really well.  We are 19-1-1. I have a few assists and two goals. I was really sick the past two years but this year has been the best of my high school career and I have been playing probably the best soccer of my life.

Do you plan on playing in college?
I am going up to State College. I am debating on whether to try out for club or not.

What has been the highlight of your career?
Last year making it to the semis in districts and states and having the community out there supporting us. Even though we didn't win, it made you feel like you were representing something more than just a soccer team, but a community.

What is your favorite junk food?
Skittles.

What is your favorite T.V. show?
Modern Family.

What is your favorite pre-game song?
I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas.

What is your favorite meal the night before a game?
Grilled chicken and gluten-free pasta.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
Growing up my dad would always wear this golf hat that said Ping and underneath it said play your best. It just really represented our team.
