Cover named girls' hoops coach at Bermudian

Kari Cover, a former three-sport athlete and basketball standout at Bermudian Springs, has been named the Eagles new girls' basketball coach, according to a release sent out today by the school. Cover's name is a familiar one for Eagles fans. A 2004 graduate from Bermudian, she is the school's all-time leading basketball scorer -- girls' or boys' -- with 1,292 career points. As a senior, she helped lead Bermudian Springs to the Mid-Penn Capital Division title, which remains the program's only girls' basketball championship. She continued her basketball career at Millersville, where she was a team captain as a senior. Cover spent the last two seasons on Bermudian's staff as a varsity assistant. Before that, she served a year as the Eagles' assistant junior high coach. Cover replaces former coach Scott Chronister, who was 22-23 in his two years as head coach at the school. Bermudian finished in fourth place in Division III this year at 8-13 overall, 5-8 in division play.
