Four McGlynn sticking with Vermont

Dallastown basketball standout Four McGlynn confirmed Monday he will fulfill his commitment to Vermont, the school he has signed to play at next year, despite the departure of coach Mike Lonergan to George Washington. McGlynn said he talked and texted throughout the weekend with a handful of Vermont players. They assured him that, while Lonergan was leaving, the rest of the program would remain intact. "They said they're going to have the biggest say in who the new coach was," McGlynn said. "The first thing that came to my mind was if Coach Lonergan is leaving, at least one or two of them are leaving, too. "Vermont is just such a high standard," McGlynn added. "It's a place I can see myself staying for all four years." Lonergan was officially named the new coach at George Washington on Friday, ending a six-year run with the Catamounts. Pat McGlynn, Four's father, said that night it was possible his son would consider looking at other schools. Instead, all Four McGlynn needed was a few days of reflection. More on GameTimePA.com.
