South Western has good showing at Penn Relays

I'm still trying to catch up some stuff after a long weekend away, but here's a quick tidbit from the Penn Relays, which were held this past weekend in Philadelphia: The South Western boys' 1600 team relay team had an excellent showing Saturday morning, placing fourth in its heat. The quartet of Mike Pugh, Logan Bowman, Brendon Krise and Dillon Langenfeld produced a time of 3:30.53. Langenfield had the best split of the three, whipping around the track in 51.46 seconds. The Mustangs were the only relay group from Pennsylvania to compete in their heat. A team from East Orange High School in New Jersey won the heat, notching a time of 3:27.01. In girls' track action Thursday, South Western's Beth Kolmer, Maddie Suarez, Amore Coleman and MacKenzie Walls won their heat in the small school 400-meter relay. The quartet then placed 69th overall with a time of 51.07 seconds.
