YAIAA athlete spotlight: Adam Sentz

Adam is a senior outfielder for York Catholic.

How is your season going so far?

The season is going pretty well. Our team and coaches are working very hard.  We had a very big win against York Suburban Tuesday.

What is your teams record?

7-2.

How have you been playing?

I have been playing well.  If I have a bad game, our team as a whole picks each other up.  That's the good part about having 13 seniors. So far this season I am batting .462 (18-for-39), with eight RBIs and two doubles.

What do you plan to do after high school?

I am going to be attending the University of Pittsburgh to study Management Information Systems. Eventually, I plan to go to Pitt Dental School.

How old were you when you started playing baseball?

5 years old. I played my first actual baseball at age 7.

What is it about baseball that you enjoy?

I love the game because, while it is intense at times, it is a relaxing game. It is definitely one of the best sports to play and watch for that matter.

Who is your favorite professional team?

The Baltimore Orioles.

What is the highlight of your baseball career so far?

Probably winning in districts last year 7-0 against Pequea Valley.  Alex Tucci pitched a fantastic game.

What is your favorite night before a game meal?

Spaghetti and Garlic Bread.

What is your favorite junk food?

Definitely Oreos.

What is a song you listen to on on the bus ride to a game?

Your Love by the Outfield.   It is a team favorite.

What is your favorite T.V. show?

Family Guy.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

Always stick to the fundamentals and play defense.  That'll win games, not the fancy "stuff"
