Official to be honored at YAIAA all-star game
Longtime area referee Don Swartz will be honored before Sunday's YAIAA boys' basketball senior all-star game at Dallastown High School. Swartz passed away Thursday at the age of 64. Mike Mummert, one of the event's organizers, said there are plans for a ceremony prior to the contest to commemorate Swartz's contributions. Mummert also said several officials plan to attend the game and wear their black-and-white striped uniforms in Swartz's honor. The all-star game, which will feature many of the YAIAA's top senior basketball players, is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m. at Dallastown.
