Update from the PIAA Wrestling Championships


HERSHEY -- Just arrived at the Giant Center for today's PIAA Class AAA wrestling quarterfinals. In about an hour, six YAIAA wrestlers will attempt to book their place in the state semifinals: New Oxford's Jordan Conaway (112), South Western's Max Good (125), South Western's Cameron Throckmorton (130), Spring Grove Trey Duncan (145), Kennard-Dale's Chance Marsteller (152) and Spring Grove's Neal Grudi (171). The showcase bout today will be Throckmorton against Nazareth's Zach Horan. Both are undefeated, and the wrestling website Intermat ranks Horan the No. 2 130-pounder in the entire nation. In Class AA quarterfinal action this morning, Hanover's Ian Brown (103) and Biglerville's Laike Gardner (130) advanced to tonight's semifinals, which start at 6:30.
